Body freshness is high on the list of priorities for many. Yet the shelves jostle with a myriad of deodorants, many of which disappoint or just don’t smell nice.

A long-lasting deodorant is hard to come by let alone one that is not tested on animals, is made from completely natural ingredients and contains no harmful aluminium commonly found in deodorants.

A new product from Wild, a company based in London, comes with these reassuring promises with the bonus of a slick long-lasting refillable case that comes with biodegradable infills. That means a no-waste system that aligns well with modern concerns.

Ingredients include Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to control odour, sunflower seed to supply vitamin E to keep the skin moisturised, tapioca starch extracted from the roots of the cassava plant to absorb moisture and keep your armpits dry, and citric acid to retard the growth of odour causing bacteria.

The company says:

“All our refills are packed with a careful blend of essential oils, PH levellers, moisturising natural oils, active naturals, hydrating agents. We’ve taken the upmost care to combine premium natural ingredients to create the perfect formula for your underarm!”

A sustainable product that works? Sounds like a winner doesn’t it?

The product is delivered in a compact (recyclable) box that slips easily through the letterbox. Inside is a stylishly designed lightweight aluminium holder together with the deodorant.

A twistable bottom

It all fits together easily and once assembled looked pretty enough to carry in a handbag or display in the bathroom.

Its wide armpit size means that just a couple of glides gives reassuring coverage. The twistable base pushes up the product for more.

In the past, I had opted for scent-free products but the rose aroma of Rose Blush is delightful. Though there are other scents in the selection: Mint Fresh, Orange Zens and Coconut Dreams.

Refills cost £6 each. Or £5 if you choose to subscribe and receive a new one on a regular basis.
