Lee Country takes UK representation to boost visitor numbers | News

The Lee County, Florida Visitor & Convention Bureau, a leading travel destination marketing organisation branded as ‘The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel’ has appointed Four Communications to handle its sales, marketing and public relations in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia following a competitive pitch process.

Four Communications has been appointed to promote this region of south-west Florida to consumers, the travel trade and media with the aim of raising awareness of the destination and increasing visitation across target segments.

Tamara Pigott, executive director for Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau said: “Four Communications produced an excellent proposal that we are confident will build on our current market position and raise awareness levels of our beautiful natural and authentic Florida beach destination.

“The United Kingdom represents approximately four per cent of the total visitation and a substantial economic impact as international guests stay longer and spend more.

“It is our goal to build upon our successes and attract a new audience in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.”

Rob Wilson, Four Communications head of sales and marketing, travel and tourism will lead the account.
