The new route will go from the Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to the Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR)
The American airline JetBlue Airways announced in a press release the official launch of a new service from New York to Puerto Vallarta. The first flight of this route arrived on February 19 during the afternoon.
The new flight will connect Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with the Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) and will operate four times a week. JetBlue became the only airline to provide a service for this route. In total, the airline will offer its customers 3 destinations in Mexico: Cancun, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.
JetBlue continues to expand its international presence and responds to its client’s interests in Latin America and the Caribbean. Now more US citizens can enjoy the beautiful beaches in Jalisco, the nightlife, and many more activities Puerto Vallarta has to offer.
“As demand for travel continues to increase, we are excited to introduce the new route to Puerto Vallarta, offering our Northeast customers a new destination in Mexico,” said Andrea Lusso JetBlue’s vice president of network planning in the press release: “We look forward to continuing expanding our network and international presence in Latin America as part of our growth strategy.”
At the moment, JetBlue offers over 30 international destinations and continues to seduce its clients with very low fares. Currently, the company is offering a special price, starting at $99 for one-way fares, for the new New York to Puerto Vallarta service on their official website
About the New Itinerary
The official launch of JetBlue’s new Mexican destination has had a positive impact on local authorities. Briana Gisel Banda Renteria, Head of Public Relations and Project Management of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport declared: “For Grupo Aeropuertuario del Pacífico (GAP) welcoming JetBlue for the first time in Puerto Vallarta is a celebration and a sign that the best is yet to come, by demonstrating passengers feel confident traveling and the airport provides the highest safety measures and investment in its history to offer customers the best travel experience.”
Now US citizens have more alternatives to escape winter and relax in blue warm waters and Mexican travelers can enjoy New York’s exciting energy and attractions. These are the schedules for the new route:
- From New York (JFK) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR): departs at 9:00 a.m., arrives at 2:10 p.m.
- From Puerto Vallarta (PVR) to New York (JFK): departs at 3:26 p.m., arrives at 9:31 p.m.
The new itinerary comes also with high expectations from the local tourism industry. Luis Villaseñor, Managing Director for Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board declared feeling pleased with JetBlue’s service: “We are thrilled to welcome visitors from the Northeast to Puerto Vallarta thanks to this new direct service from JetBlue.”

JetBlue also declared that for this route it will be using a mix of two airplanes: The Airbus A321 Neo and the A320. The services in coach include free Fly-Fi broadband Internet, complimentary snacks and soft drinks, and DIRECTV programming for each seat.
Besides the air service, the carrier is also offering special vacation packages for Puerto Vallarta with their JetBlue Vacation Service, where travelers can book flights and hotels and get promo codes and discounts, and the possibility to earn “TrueBlue” points.
