As the Caribbean island nation is dropping some of its entry requirements for vaccinated travelers, unvaccinated individuals will no longer be allowed to visit Bermuda for leisure purposes. This travel update goes into effect on March 7, 2022.
According to Bermuda’s official government website, the new guidelines will apply to all unvaccinated travelers aged 12 and above. Individuals under 12 years of age will not need to show proof of vaccination if they’re traveling with their fully vaccinated parents or guardians.
However, the island nation is making visiting easier than ever for passengers who are fully vaccinated, as they drop most testing rules.
New Guidance Also Applies To Unvaccinated Cruise Ship Passengers To Bermuda
The updated guidance will also apply to unvaccinated cruise ship passengers, who will not be able to disembark the cruise ship in Bermuda once the new rules go into effect.
Travel Restrictions Bermuda: Updates and Removals For 2022
More travel updates for Bermuda are scheduled for next month, most of them becoming simplified for vaccinated visitors, allowing them to visit with fewer barriers.
The on-arrival PCR Covid test as well as the Day 4 rapid antigen test required for vaccinated travelers will be removed.
As of March 7, the current requirements for unvaccinated travelers, including the on-arrival test, quarantine, and Day 10 test will no longer apply, as entry will not be permitted.
Updated Travel Rules Won’t Apply To Bermuda Residents
The new guidelines won’t exclude unvaccinated Bermuda residents from re-entering the country. However, a quarantine period may be required.

Entry Requirements For Bermuda – Information For Travelers
Effective March 7, 2022, here are the travel rules for fully vaccinated travelers to Bermuda:
- Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19: Bermuda defines fully vaccinated as someone who’s received a full course of a Covid vaccine no less than 14 days prior to travel. This means that travelers will have to have received the full course of a vaccine (one or two doses, depending on the type).
- One pre-departure test: A negative Covid test result is still required for travel to Bermuda – either a PCR or rapid antigen Covid test (supervised) will be accepted. The PCR test date can’t be older than 4 days before scheduled arrival to Bermuda and the rapid antigen test no more than 2 days of arrival, according to the official guidance. This applies to all travelers aged 2 and older.
- Bermuda’s official Travel Authorization form must be completed and paid for 1-3 days of travel to the Caribbean country. The price will be reduced from $75 to $40.
Return Tests Will Be Scheduled For Travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers will be happy with the relaxed testing requirements for Bermuda come March. If you’re looking for a sunny spring getaway, the entry process for vaccinated travelers will be the easiest it’s been in the past two years.
And if your return destination requires any Covid tests for travel, know that the official guidance states that for travel to Bermuda, “No further testing will be required upon arrival. If country of origin requires a test to return, Bermuda will automatically schedule and provide return testing to travelers.” Ask at your hotel in Bermuda if you need more information about a Covid test to travel back home.
Traveling To Bermuda In 2022
Bermuda has kept some of the tightest travel restrictions over the past two years. Upon reopening in the summer of 2020, all travelers had to quarantine and undergo a series of Covid tests throughout their trip.
This month’s travel rules update comes as a number of other Caribbean nations ease entry requirements for vaccinated visitors. Just this week, Jamaica announced that it would drop the required Travel Health form for entry and relax all internal restrictions.
