P&O Ferries has announced it will come to the rescue by offering a 20% discount on its popular Dover to Calais route for holidaymakers impacted by flight cancellations and disruption at airports.

This year has seen countless airport strikes and cancellations due to numerous factors in fact, a recent report by Cirium reveals that flight cancellations from the UK have increased significantly in 2023 compared to pre-pandemic levels, as so far this year, 1 in every 69 flights departing from the UK have been cancelled.
For those unlucky travellers recently impacted by air travel disruption, all they need to do is enter their flight number on P&O Ferries’ website and they will in turn be offered the 20 per cent discount on the Dover to Calais route in place of their cancelled or disrupted flight.

“Summer holidays are a time of year that everyone looks forward to, with cancellations being announced by airlines we didn’t want people to lose out on their holidays. We wanted to provide people with an opportunity to try a new way of holidaying to keep their summer breaks alive and by providing their flight number they could unlock a 20 per cent discount to alleviate the stress.”
With up to 15 sailings a day at peak times between Dover and Calais, the ferry is a great, reliable alternative to air travel, with a crossing time of just 90 minutes. The full timetable can be found here.
