Cirium have revealed Europe’s most punctual airlines in July 2023, alongside the region’s current cancellation trends.
Europe:
- Iberia was named Europe’s most punctual carrier last month, with 80.75% of flights arriving on-time
- Finnair landed second position, with 79.82% of all flights arriving on-time
- Norwegian Air Shuttle, LOT Polish Airlines and Vueling also made the top five, offering customers punctual service on over 74% of flights
- No UK airline featured in the top 10 of most punctual European carriers.
Globally:
- Globally, LATAM Airlines was named the most punctual airline in July, with 85.30% of flights arriving at their destination on-time
- The second spot was highly contested, with Avianca securing an 84.67% punctuality score, just head of Saudia which took third place with 83.76%
- Japan Airlines and Qatar Airways took fourth and fifth spot, with 83.39% and 82.67%% respectively.
Cancellations:
- The number of cancelled flights within Europe fell 11% in July 2023 (month-on-month), as summer travel took off
- In July 2023, 9,231 flights were cancelled within Europe, down from 10,401 in June 2023
- Cancellations fell in every global region in July, apart from North America, where cancellations rose 21%.
