These are the top 7 trending destinations for 2024 according to Trivago:
7) Playa Bavaro, Dominican Republic
Sunny vacays always check off all the boxes, don’t they? Americans are craving Vitamin D this time of year as the temperatures are plunging day by day.
The Caribbean never seems to fail when it comes to sunny escapes, but Playa Bavaro is held in high regard as the top beach in the Dominican Republic.
Located in one of Americans’ favorite paradisal beach getaways, Punta Cana, tourists love making their to Playa Bavaro for otherworldly blue waters, soft white sand and world-class resorts, such as Meliá and Dreams.
6) Honolulu, Hawaii
Hawaii has made headlines for tragic disasters this year, but travelers are ready to give Hawaii a whirl. It is one of the most gorgeous places in the U.S., and no matter where you go, you won’t regret it.
Many choose Honolulu as a gateway or base (or both) to reach paradise and gain a sense of Hawaii’s stunning beauty and unique culture different from any other state.
Debates are ongoing if Maui is ready for tourism after a fatal wildfire, but that is ultimately up to the traveler. Other islands not directly impacted are definitely open for business, such as Oahu, Kauai, and of course – the Big Island.
5) Orlando, Florida
Orlando is popular for multiple reasons, but many flock to this Florida city to bring the kiddos to Disney World or to act like a kid again at the very least.
Despite being known as a magical theme park hub, Orlando has a lot to offer. The weather is great, and you’re always within short driving distance of a much-needed beach day.
Orlando is made for pure fun, whether losing track of time at Disney World, escaping to a nice beach, or an adventure through the one-of-a-kind Everglades National Park.
4) Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
When we think of Tennessee, Nashville and Memphis may come to mind. There is another small getaway with hordes of tourists having the time of their lives in the scenic Smoky Mountains.
This unsuspecting getaway is actually quite popular and a blast to visit with amusement parks, such as Dollywood, high-end resorts like Margaritaville, and cozy cabins for a more rural stay in the vast mountains.
To escape the big cities while still craving southern hospitality, Pigeon Forge is the place to be.
3) Cancun, Mexico
To no surprise, Americans are flocking to their favorite Mexican beach destination – Cancun. Although, for the first quarter of 2024, many vacationers’ last stop might be Tulum.
The new Tulum International Airport is open, but flights from the U.S. aren’t scheduled until March.
But hey, you can go ahead and hop on the new Maya Train.
While millions of tourists will make Cancun their base for a vacation in paradise, others will explore nearby Tulum and other trendy beach towns, such as Isla Mujeres, as the Mexican Caribbean is shooting through the roof in popularity.
2) New York, New York
Is there any U.S. city more iconic than the Big Apple? New York City is a never-ending playground for every type of traveler.
If you find yourself bored in the city that never sleeps, something isn’t right. With endless attractions and a foodie’s dream of so many different cultures, travelers flock here for a variety of reasons.

And let’s not forget the incredible 24/7 party scene. It’s no surprise Las Vegas is the trendiest destination next year with the indescribable new Sphere experience, plus new lavish hotels opening on the world-famous Strip.
