Though we’re finally starting to leave the cold, dreary weather behind, the allure of a beachy getaway remains as strong as ever.
That’s why many of the biggest U.S. airlines are trying their best to catch up with the ever-increasing demand by introducing new flights to warm-weathered hubs, and the latest to come out with an exciting new announcement is Delta.
North America’s most punctual carrier has recently introduced four new nonstop routes to some of the world’s most inviting tropical destinations.
Those planning to explore the wonders of Mexico and the Caribbean this 2024 might just find that next flight to book below.
Atlanta To Barbados
Right off the bat, I need to tell you that Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will be the one getting most (though not all) of these newly announced Delta services.
The Georgia city will get new daily flights to Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados, come November 23rd, but that’s not all.
New Yorkers will also get a Barbados flight they can embark from JFK, launching December 21st, but this route will only operate once a week, on Saturdays, so your schedule might be a bit limited.
Before we go any further, I also want to note that all of the flights I’ll be mentioning today will be carried out on a Boeing 737-800, which has a capacity of 162 passengers and a two-class layout – this means you’ll get your pick of seats so long as you don’t wait too long to book.
With that out of the way, let’s move on to yet another Atlanta route to one of the Caribbean’s most gorgeous destinations.
Atlanta To Curacao
After being named one of the safest islands in the region and breaking its all-time visitor record, it’s no secret that Curacao is having one of its best tourism years to date, and, as it seems, traveler demand for the stunning hotspot isn’t going away anytime soon.
That’s why Delta, after ceasing services to the Caribbean island for more than 13 years, has finally decided to operate a daily Arlanta-Curacao route.
To be fair, these new flights were already recommenced on December 16 of last year, and because the response from travelers was so enthusiastic, the carrier decided to launch a new daily route come November 23rd.
If you, too, want to experience the famous white-sanded beaches of Cas Abao, the Dutch colonial architecture of Willemstad, and the jaw-dropping views of the Hato Caves, you need to get your hands on those tickets as soon as possible – there have never been so many travelers so eager to explore Curacao.
Atlanta To Puerto Plata
The third (and final) flight Delta will be launching from Atlanta will take travelers to Puerto Plata, one of the Dominican Republic’s most coveted hotspots.
If you’ve been keeping up to date with travel news, you know that the Caribbean country has had a groundbreaking year in terms of visitor numbers, setting records so many times (1,2,3), that at this point, a new, even greater one is just a matter of time.
However, this also means that the country’s most popular destinations (think Punta Cana) are getting too crowded for comfort, which is why demand for other gorgeous regions like Puerto Plata has surged in the meantime.
The new flight taking travelers to the home of the iconic Amber Coast and Playa Dorada will also start operating on November 23rd, so make sure to mark the date.
Minneapolis/St. Paul to Mazatlán
Another airport set to be part of Delta’s latest expansion is Minneapolis/St. Paul, from where travelers can embark on a direct flight to Mazatlán three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The route will commence on December 21st, promising travelers the experience of a lifetime.
Though Mazatlán might be a bit more of an obscure destination, especially compared to major international hotspots like Cancun or Cabo San Lucas, there’s still a lot to do and see in the idyllic beach town.
Those looking to experience the quintessential beachy experience in Mexico without sky-high prices and suffocating crowds will love lounging on Mazatlán’s golden beaches, walking through the local Malecón, and enjoying a mouth-watering meal at Plazuela Machado.
