Blue Lagoon Iceland and its facilities including the Blue Lagoon, Blue Café, Lava and Moss restaurants, Retreat and Silica hotels, the Retreat Spa, and the on-site retail store reopens, Friday, February 16.

The operating hours will be temporarily adjusted for the Blue Lagoon, which will be open from 08.00-21.00, with the last possible booking at 19.00.

Due to the recent disruption to Blue Lagoon Iceland’s primary access road, visitors must use an alternative route. Guests are encouraged to be mindful of the speed limit as the roads are narrow. The new estimated travel distance is approximately 80 km from Reykjavik and 40 km from Keflavik, and guests are encouraged to factor in the additional travel time. Guests can also book transfers via Destination Blue Lagoon.

This reopening is a collaborative effort with local authorities, ensuring ongoing safety in light of recent seismic and volcanic events. We wish to inform guests that our operational units are located within an area at risk due to seismic activity as identified by the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Experts continue to closely monitor the area and the ongoing developments of seismic activity through round-the-clock, real-time analysis.
