Now that spring travel is in full force and summer is quickly approaching, warm-weathered hubs are becoming more popular than ever.
What do most of us think of when we imagine a tropical getaway?
The Caribbean.
Between the postcard-worthy beaches, unbelievable food, and relaxed atmosphere, the gorgeous hubs that dot the region are hands-down the perfect escape for travelers looking to welcome the warmer months with open arms.
And while the lineup of places people are choosing to go to these months is pretty diverse, there are a couple of destinations that are clearly leading the way as the Caribbean’s trendiest destinations.
Based on the increase in tourist numbers year-on-year, these were named the 6 fastest-growing Caribbean hubs, and, spoiler alert – current traveler favorites like the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands didn’t make the cut.
6. Sint Maarten
This tiny island in the Dutch Caribbean promises the perfect blend of beauty and culture, and, best of all, it’s pretty easy to get in and out of.
Boats and planes that facilitate access to Sint Maarten are abundant, and, according to Skyscanner, some flights from mainland U.S. to the island can cost as little as $185 – so definitely not expensive, at least considering where you’re going.
Travelers love Sint Maarten for its duty-free shops, legendary nightlife, and pristine beaches surrounded by gorgeous little towns that have both a Caribbean and European feel.
5. Aruba
Since it’s barely been two months since Aruba broke its all-time tourism record, there’s no need for me to ramble on about how amazing a visit here would be – chances are you’ve either already been to the island or have added it to your (way too long) bucket list.
However, it is noteworthy that after reaching such a historic milestone, the island still manages to outpace the rest of the region.
People can’t seem to get enough of Aruba, and it’s easy to see why.
The beaches are breathtaking, there’s plenty to do and see throughout all hours of the day, and this is one of the safest Caribbean islands you can visit this spring – what more could you ask for?
4. Saint Kitts and Nevis
Next up is a twin-island nation in the West Indies that has gone through a tourism renaissance these past few years.
Famous for their virgin beaches, rich history, and authentic Caribbean charm, it’s clear why these islands are getting ahead of better-known destinations that have, unfortunately, been overridden by mass tourism.
3. Puerto Rico
Whether it’s the endless pop culture references or the constant efforts put into making Puerto Rico a convenient, accessible tropical getaway, there’s something that’s causing a big shift in the country’s popularity in the international travel scene.
Let’s face it—the idea of getting to vacation somewhere cheap, gorgeous, and tropical without even needing a passport is just too good to pass up.

The beauty of soft-sanded beaches like Avila’s, Blue Bay, and Caracasbaai combined with the cultural charm of Willemstad creates a mix of experiences that’s just too good to pass out on.
