If you’re itching to fly someplace warm right now but don’t want to drain your entire travel budget for the year, there’s only one right answer – Latin America.

It’s an entire world of dreamy beach hubs, fascinating cities, and incredible food, all wrapped up in a budget-friendly package, and while that’s usually true across the board, some countries do offer better deals than others.

That’s why today, we’re taking a look at the latest Hello Safe report on the cheapest and most expensive destinations around the world in search of the best-value Latin American hubs.

The ranking was based on a study that looked at the average daily budget required for one traveler in 136 countries around the globe, and as it turns out, the following gems can all be visited for less than $67 a day.

Cuba

With estimated daily costs of just $51, Cuba is officially the cheapest Latin American country you can visit right now, and the craziest thing is you’ll get so much out of your money, too.

Havana, Cuba

Whether you’re staying in a casa particular (a type of local guesthouse) or a 5-star resort, you can rest assured that you’re getting a great deal – this gorgeous room in one of Havana’s most highly-reviewed boutique hotels is currently discounted at just $20 a night, so if I were you, I’d run, not walk to book my dates.

In Cuba, you can spend your days lounging around Varadero and Playa Girón, going on free walking tours, and enjoying a scrumptious meal at one of the many local paladares for as little as $5-$10.

Colombia

Since Colombia was just named one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations, it might be time to check it off of your bucket list and see what the fuss is all about – if this recent growth continues uninterrupted, the country might turn into an overcrowded tourist trap faster than you think, so you’ll want to move fast.

Between Bogotá, Medellin, Cartagena, and Santa Marta, you have plenty of choices when it comes to finding a city that’s both jaw-dropping and reasonably priced.

Cali, Colombia

And whether you’re planning more of a typical city break with plenty of sightseeing sessions or a more laid-back beach getaway, you’ll probably never exceed the $55-a-day mark here.

Guatemala

Moving on to what we at Travel Off Path consider Central America’s most underrated gem, Guatemala, promises all the awe-inspiring views, uninhibited fun, shockingly cheap prices, and, yes, even safety, you could dream of.

Scenic lake in Guatemala, Central America

For just a little over $60 a day, you’ll get to stay in amazing hotels, explore everything from iconic churches like La Merced to otherwordly viewpoints like Cerro de la Cruz, and even hike up Volcán de Pacaya – all while setting plenty of money aside for a plate of pepián de pollo, chiles rellenos, and hilachas along with a good glass of cusha.

Bolivia

If you really want to see just how much you can get for the lowest amount of money, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Bolivia.

Cable car in La Paz, Bolivia

Here, a hearty meal out rarely (if ever) exceeds the $5 mark, hostels start at just $10 a night in most major cities, La Paz’s famous “teleférico” with some of the most unbelievable views of the city costs just $0.43 for a ride, and 5-star hotels like this regularly charge less than $100 a night.

Luxury experiences on a backpacking budget? It really doesn’t get much better than this!

Nicaragua

I wanted to end things with yet another one of those places that I feel is constantly overlooked, and people miss out on a lot as a result.

Since this season we’re done sleeping on these gorgeous lesser-known hubs, Nicaragua should be right on top of your bucket list.

With its $30 hotels, one-of-a-kind culture, and surreal volcanic views (a hike to either Mombacho Volcano or Masaya National Park is a must), this fantastic Latin American country promises the experience of a lifetime for less than $67 a day.
