Rising four storeys into the pine-scented air above the iconic village of Courchevel 1850, Aman Le Mélézin will welcome guests once again from 12 December 2024. Offering France’s finest ski-in, ski-out experience, complete with ski butler service, from its enviable setting directly on the Bellecôte Piste, the hotel – recently awarded a prestigious Two MICHELIN Key – introduces a host of signature experiences for the season ahead, from outdoor adventures to discoveries in dining and wellness.
An intimate alpine retreat, Aman Le Mélézin embraces 31 rooms, each offering breathtaking views of mountain, forest or piste. This season, the hotel’s ten Ski Piste Chambres, many with private terraces with hot tubs, have been fully renovated to delicately weave oak wood, fabric and soft-hued stone features to create the purest and most refined alpine design.
Culinary Journeys
With its origins in the East, Aman has long been inspired by the graciousness of Asian hospitality. At Aman Le Mélézin, this influence is found in perfect balance with all the comforts of a classic French château.
In an ode to washoku dining tradition, Nama, the hotel’s signature Japanese restaurant, offers the finest sashimi, sushi and signature dishes, with Bento boxes – a traditional Japanese lunch box – served on the piste-facing terrace every lunchtime. Building on this concept, new seasonal highlights include a Matcha Tea Ceremony class every afternoon in The Bar, and an elevated al fresco Korean Hot Pot dining experience, combining breathtaking mountain views with authentic cuisine from February 2025.
Meanwhile, for those seeking classic mountain fare, the return of the Fireside Delights Party promises après-ski indulgence like no other, with a selection of fresh fruits for dipping into homemade melted chocolate and marshmallows for toasting on an open fire. New decadent offerings this season also include made to order waffles and crêpes adorned with chestnuts or caviar accompanied by champagne – the perfect treat to savour after a day on the slopes. The enchantment of an evening at Les Prés de la Croix will also be available once more, with a romantic moonlit snowmobile ride to a secluded chalet where a Savoyard dinner of cheese fondue or hotpot awaits by a roaring log fire – a truly one-of-a-kind private dining experience.
Complementing these offerings, exclusive cocktail masterclasses for up to four guests will hone skills in crafting two signature cocktails and a mocktail led by the hotel’s expert mixologists in the newly refurbished Salon Bar.
Perfect for gastronomes, a stay at Aman Le Mélézin is inclusive of breakfast and a dine-around experience, providing special access each lunch or dinner to a selection of five hand-picked partner restaurants in the region, including La Folie Douce in Méribel, in addition to the property’s dining venues.
Alpine Wellness
Spanning two entire floors, Aman Le Mélézin’s spa is a sanctuary of wellness, offering a wide range of holistic treatments to soothe and rejuvenate after an active day on the slopes.
This winter, Dr John Sanchez, a highly respected practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, will return to the hotel, further enriching the wellness offering from 1 to 28 February 2025. With over a decade of expertise, Dr Sanchez will offer a range of individual sessions including acupuncture, deep tissue massage and reflexology, along with innovative therapies such as AcuLaser and magnet therapy, and movement classes in Tai Chi, Qigong, Yin Yoga and his signature, Animal Flow.
For a more immersive experience, multi-day wellness journeys with Dr Sanchez focus on either recovery and conditioning or mindfulness and energy balancing. The programmes are inclusive of a private TCM consultation, and a series of personalised sessions and treatments tailored to individual needs.
This season, the Aman Spa presents special massage sessions for younger guests. Also, available at the Kids Club, relaxation experiences are designed to gently ease and calm little minds, complementing its robust daily programme of children’s activities ranging from local crafts to music-making and ball games.
