TD: Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in the hospitality industry. How does Amari Hua Hin incorporate eco-friendly practices, and what initiatives have been implemented to promote sustainability?

ME: At Amari Hua Hin, we’re fully committed to a better future and a sustainable ecosystem. What do we incorporate for eco-friendly practices:

  • Reduce waste during events: Reduce the number of trash receptacles at the event venue while increasing the number of recycling options to force attendees to dispose of their waste thoughtfully.
  • Incorporate reusable dishes, silverware, glasses, and mugs. This reduces using plastic straws and boxes on the property.
  • Energy conservation, we have energy tracking and digital thermostats in the guest rooms and use LED light bulbs.
  • Digitising the guest experience and making their stay more convenient. Reducing hotels’ carbon footprint and documentation are being replaced by apps, emails, and QR codes. We also use software solutions like Oaky or Okkami to digitize the upselling process and pre-select services and add-ons before they arrive.
  • CSR program supporting the local community as Blue swimming crab (BSC) in Khao Ta Kieb. Amari Hua Hin Team member joined to release and nurse marine animals to rehabilitate and increase the number of blue swimming crab resources in the Gulf of Thailand. And also we promote this project to people via our social media and support the Blue Swimming Crab Bank budget.
  • Managing Food Waste by planning grocery shopping and designing the menu by Chef, storing and handling the food materials, and donating unusable food and waste to local farms nearby.
