The only thing better than escaping to the sun in the middle of a miserable winter?
Escaping to the sun and getting a great price!
The biggest U.S. airlines have finalized their winter sun flight destinations for 2024/2025, which means that now is the right time to book your winter sun flights.
Unless you have nerves of steel and you can wait to get bargain flights at the very last minute, flights tend to be cheapest when they’re released.
But where should you go?
Why not try one of these 7 new nonstop flights to winter sun destinations:
St Maarten, Carribean
Delta Airlines is launching a brand-new flight between Minneapolis-St Paul and St Maarten.
This route will launch on December 19, so it’s perfect if you want to enjoy some Christmas fun in the sun (I do apologize for mentioning the C word so early!)
These Delta flights to St Maarten will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the winter season, so you could even stay for a long weekend.
Aruba, Caribbean
Another Delta Airlines flight for our list is from Minneapolis-St Paul, but this time to Aruba.
This flight route will operate on Fridays and Sundays so, just like the St Maartens flight, you could use this for a quick weekend break in the sun.
This route will launch on December 20.
Aruba is a great spot for both beach lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. It’s famous for its perfect pink flamingos.
La Romana, Dominican Republic
American Airlines will fly to more destinations in the Dominican Republic than any other airline this winter, thanks to the addition of a new flight to La Romana.
This new flight will depart from Miami and will be a daily service, giving travelers the freedom to travel on the days that best suit them.
This new flight route will launch on December 5.
St. Vincent And The Grenadines, Caribbean
This is another offering from American Airlines, and this flight route is significant because American Airlines is the only major U.S. airline flying to St. Vincent and The Grenadines this summer.
So if you dream of volcanic hikes, unique black sand beaches, and beautiful small islands then this is great news for you.
This will be a Saturday-only service, so if you want to visit these islands, you’ll need to stay for at least a week (why not two?).
This route will start on December 7.
Grenada, Caribbean
JetBlue is also in the mix with new flights that are completely unique, giving travelers brand-new destination options!
This new route will depart from Boston and will only operate once weekly on a Saturday. But as soon as it launches, it will be a year-round flight option.
Grenada is a dream-like island with typical white-sand Caribbean beaches alongside spectacular waterfalls and incredible rainforests.
It is also home to three award-winning rum distilleries, where you can enjoy fun tasting tours.
Santiago, Chile
Another offering from JetBlue and another new, completely unique flight route.
The airline is also introducing a daily, year-round flight from Orlando (MCO) to Santiago as part of its winter schedule.
JetBlue is currently the only airline proposing a nonstop flight on this route.
Santiago boasts a vibrant atmosphere and is packed full of museums and art galleries for culture vultures.
There’s always something to see and do here and the city also has a well renowned fine dining scene.
Tenerife, Canary Islands
I couldn’t resist including an expanded route to one of my favorite destinations.
If you want some European winter sun then there’s nowhere better to be than the Canary Islands.
United Airlines have announced that they will extend their winter schedule to Tenerife from Newark airport until at least the end of March 2025.
The flight will operate three times weekly in each direction.
Average temperatures in Tenerife stay warm all year round, and the island’s skyline is dominated by Mount Teide.
This is Spain’s highest peak, and it attracts hikers from around the world, especially during the winter months.
