According to Skyscanner’s new Horizons Regional Travel Outlook 2024 Report, many U.S. travelers already have their set their sights on some awesome summer trips across the globe, ranging from lesser-known to iconic to historic.
Most travelers seem destined to put their passports to use, while one mega-popular U.S. city is just too good to pass up.
These are the 6 most popular destinations for Americans this summer according to Skyscanner.
6) Manila
The concrete jungle of the Philippines is well worth a trip on its own or as a gateway to island-hopping.
One of the most affordable cities in Asia, Manila has become quite popular for digital nomads.
Despite the drawbacks of high humidity, any type of traveler is well-suited to this city as it’s cheap, cultural, and offers many attractions.
Perusing the streets immediately transports you into a completely different culture where you’ll find bustling street markets, beautiful historic architecture, and remnants of its Spanish colonial past like the Intramuros district.
5) Madrid
Perhaps Spain’s artsiest city, Americans are craving culture through Spain’s phenomenal food, world-class museums, and mesmerizing architecture.
As one of the most popular countries in Europe, it seems travelers are skipping out on Barcelona as their gateway and using Spain’s capital instead.
