Updated Travel Guidelines for Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has recently modified its travel guidelines. Starting May 25th, fully vaccinated US citizens that arrive on domestic flights to Puerto Rico are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 test result. However, it is best before your trip to review the Covid-19 travel guidelines for Puerto Rico, as travel guidelines are subject to change. Since Puerto Rico is a United States territory, US tourists leaving the island will not need a test to return to the mainland.

Discover Historic San Juan
The city of San Juan has much to offer the visitor. In San Juan there are world class beaches, casinos, parks, museums and much more. In Old San Juan, you can relive the past everywhere you look. When you stroll along this seven square block area, notice the cobblestone streets and colorful Spanish colonial buildings. One highlight is the dungeons, tunnels, ramps, and outposts at Castillo San Felipe El Morro. San Juan and the surrounding area are a must see on any Puerto Rico itinerary.
El Yunque National Forest
El Yunque National Forest has the distinction of being the only tropical rainforest in the United States’ national forest system. The park has 24 miles of trails for hiking and exploring the forest’s 28,000 acres. The forest has an estimated 240 types of trees, plus many other plants. These include giant ferns, bamboo and trumpet trees, and small wild orchids. Visitors will have wildlife sightings such as the Puerto Rican Parrot, Coqui frog and the Puerto Rican Boa during their visit. For recreation options, the forest has a scenic treetop walkway and camping spaces available.
Frolic on the Beach at Playa Flamenco
Playa Flamenco is located on Isla Culebra and is the ultimate snorkeling destination. This beautiful stretch of white sand and clear, calm blue water is one of the top beaches of Puerto Rico. One of the biggest attractions here is The Tank, a leftover from the United States Navy’s occupation of Culebra. Playa Flamenco beach is fully equipped with guest facilities including showers and changing rooms, a camping area and kiosks serving delicious Puerto Rican food. Getting to Playa Flamenco is as easy as taking a ferry or a short flight from San Juan.
Visit the Majestic City of Ponce
Puerto Rico’s second largest city was founded in 1692 by Loiza Ponce de Leon, great grandson of Juan Ponce de Leon. The downtown area of Ponce is the quintessence of 17th century colonial history, and it has been declared a national treasure. During your visit to Ponce, check out Plaza de las Delicias located in downtown. The Plaza has lovely fountains, park benches and a cathedral. The Parque de Bombas is an unusual red and black firehouse that dates to 1882 and is now a museum.
Go Underground at Camuy Caves
Camuy River Cave Park is considered one of those ‘can’t miss’ attractions in Puerto Rico. These subterranean caverns were carved out by the Camuy River over one million years ago. This park is one of the largest cave networks in the world. Experts believe that only about seven miles of these caves have been explored. The well maintained trails in the park descend into a 200 foot deep ravine that lead into these impressive caverns. Guided tours are available through many points throughout the park including caves and sinkholes. Camuy River Cave Park has many facilities for park use including picnic tables, a souvenir shop, food vendors and an exhibition hall.
