You know what’s great about Thailand? You can pack light year-round!

As temperatures continue to dwindle from now through the turn of the calendar, one of Thailand’s trendiest beach escapes is gearing up for a busy winter season.

With Thaiger reporting an expected 60% surge in visitors, you may catch Phuket looking in the rear-view mirror as Krabi is coming in hot!

Boasting over 100 drop-dead gorgeous islands and insanely cheap resorts, your best bet to stretch your travel budget, all while kicking back in paradise, is none other than Krabi’s postcard shores.

Imagine slurping up savory street food beachside with a cold beer in hand while everyone is back home shoveling their driveway and blaring Christmas music maniacally on an endless loop – which sounds better?

You know what to do this winter…book the trip!

Cancun Who?! The Long Flight Is Worth The Resort Savings!

We all know Americans’ favorite international beach getaway – the ever-so-popular coastline of Mexico’s shining star.

While Cancun is much easier to reach to satisfy your beach resort fix, venturing across the globe for a more cultural adventure with eye-popping savings in store is more than worthwhile.

Krabi is a province on Thailand’s west coast known for its boundless nature, which includes island-hopping thrills, lush jungles, and numerous out-of-this-world beaches.

In fact, even years ago, people thought I was crazy for visiting Thailand without making a stop in Krabi, and it’s only become more popular year by year.

One of the key reasons is the region’s insane affordability to the point it doesn’t seem possible at times.

You know, 5-star resorts under $70, 4-star resorts under $60…the list goes on…

If you’re really interested in booking a trip to Krabi, check dates for a weeklong stay in December; you’re all but guaranteed to find jaw-dropping deals.

I did some digging for you because even though my ex hates me, I’m actually a pretty nice guy!

The best overall deal this winter in my opinion is Apple A Day Resort Krabi as low as $58 booked directly through the hotel.

Just steps from the beach and home to a red swimming pool, it’s truly unique and one of the best bangs for your travel buck!

Visit Krabi’s Paradise Beach And Go Island-Hopping For Days

While authentic culture certainly isn’t lacking with fun night markets and captivating temples, a majority of tourists who visit are here for one thing – to experience paradisal beaches to no end.

Let me tell you, there are plenty to choose from. Let’s start with the coast and move out to sea…

Krabi is home to some of the most photogenic beaches on the planet, and while the secret is out, Krabi’s crowds don’t hold a candle to Phuket.

Don’t believe me? Phuket was recently named the ‘most overcrowded destination‘ on the planet.

Nang Beach, Railay Beach and Phra Nang Beach are among the top 3 for blissful beach days and stunning photo-ops.

Just don’t expect to have the place all to yourself (sharing is caring, kids!).

Railay is only accessible by boat, however, which brings us to Krabi’s stunning tropical islands as promised.

Ample ferries take you across crystal clear waters to the region’s numerous islands, including Bamboo Island, Chicken Island, Koh Hong, and the famous Phi Phi Islands.

Which is best? It’s hard to say. According to TripAdvisor, travelers love Hong Island the most for its captivating limestone walls, gleaming waters, and soft sand.

Increased Connectivity This Winter

Working in tandem, multiple airlines and the Krabi International Airport have increased flights for winter.

According to the Department of Airports (DOA), over 160 domestic flights and 60 international flights will connect to Krabi, making this slice of paradise easier to reach for an unforgettable escape.

Since they’re expecting a surge, systems have been implemented to alleviate airport congestion, such as security checkpoints and check-in counters.

But if there’s one important piece of information every traveler should have, it’s this:
