The Pacific coast of Mexico is a firm favorite among Americans when it comes to sunny holidays abroad, but there’s no denying safety remains a primary concern for some visitors, particularly when the sunny region is not exactly known for being a risk-free destination.

Instead, they are taking the first flight out to upscale, surprisingly safe Los Cabos.

With rooms averaging $600 and higher per night, the Capes are your go-to for getting the royal treatment you deserve, that is, if you’ve saved enough money throughout the year to splurge on that all-inclusive vacation.
Local resorts are among the greatest not only in Mexico but the entire world, and it’s pretty unusual for travelers to complain about exorbitant rates when they know that, upon arriving in Cabo, they will be welcomed with the highest level of comfort.
Picture winding pools facing the Azure Ocean, top-notch spa centers offering all of the latest breakthrough treatments, sea-facing suites with innovative designs, and private beach access without having to worry about planning, meals, or even daily activities.
It’s convenient, it’s the epitome of relaxation, it’s exactly what you need to truly unwind after another laborious year back home, and most importantly, it’s worth every hard-earned dollar spent on all the pampering.
Then, there is the fact that safety concerns are minimal across Los Cabos:

The state of Baja California Sur as a whole, which includes the Capes, has been added to the U.S. State Department’s Level 2 Travel Advisory listing.
Simply put, Americans should not be overly worried about their safety when visiting.
Risks are only moderate, similarly to a number of European destinations also included in Level 2, namely France, Italy and Germany, and usually relate to pickpocketing in touristy spots and violence in peripheral zones where foreigners are not frequenting.
Resorts in Cabo specifically are extremely safe areas, being surveilled night and day by local security forces, and a single incident, no matter how small, prompts them to act decisively to neutralize threats and keep tourists safe.
In fact, earlier this year, it was announced Los Cabos police are tightening safety protocols further, be it increasing driver awareness, which will subsequently make roads safer, or tackling small-scale drug trafficking, the main issue affecting youth locally.
As attested, 67.4% of locals feel their place of residence is safe already, and that one-year-old figure is bound to have increased with renowned security efforts on the local government’s part.
The Cabo Sun reports that they are adding inspectors to ensure taxi drivers stay in line and common scamming practices are combated.
Now, drivers in Cabo will have a harder time providing service without the proper documentation or when operating on inflated fares.
As the mayor has stated, ‘measures have already been initiated so that, in addition to the 30 municipal inspectors who were commissioned by the State, after training, 10 more inspectors will be authorized to support the work that is being carried out’.
The local administration is on tourists’ side, and if it’s up to them, Los Cabos will be eventually be close to crime-free.
