The company has collated a list of the top 10 trending international destinations among American travelers, and it’s definitely one that’s going to get your travel juices flowing. Let’s take a closer look:
Tokyo, Japan
It seems like almost every traveler you speak to has Tokyo pretty high up on their bucket list this year, and it’s really no surprise.
The Japanese metropolis has so much to offer, including ancient temples like Senso-Ji, glowing streets of dazzling neon in districts such as Shinjuku, and some of the most amazing food you will ever eat.
While not the cheapest place to visit, it offers an experience like no other and is incredibly easy to get around thanks to its unrivaled public transport network.
What’s more, American Airlines just launched the first non-stop flight to Tokyo out of New York JFK Airport – so you really have no excuse not to check it out.
Istanbul, Turkey
Should it really be a surprise that the world’s most visited city in 2023 remains one of the top trending destinations for this spring?
Turkey’s Istanbul is enchanting travelers from around the world thanks to its unique fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, its bustling streets and bazaars, and its incredible cultural sites such as the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque.
One of the key factors in Istanbul’s surge in popularity is how cheap it is compared to other similar destinations in Europe.
You can easily get by in Istanbul for as little as $30 a day, and an average hotel can cost you roughly $50 per night – public transport is also super cheap and pretty reliable.
Kyoto, Japan
This historic city was formerly the capital city of Japan and is like walking through a fairytale of palaces and pagodas.
The Gion district is one of the best places to see Kyoto at its finest, where you’ll often spy geishas wandering through the ancient streets.
Nearby you can visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is one of Japan’s most famous attractions – think thousands of hand-painted red gates winding up and down and beautiful hill and you’ve got the idea.
The city is also one of Japan’s leading culinary destinations, so if you dig high-quality Japanese food, then this is your place.
San Salvador, El Salvador

Antigua is a former colonial capital of Spanish Central America and as such features colorful and baroque architecture lining its cobbled streets.

It’s also becoming a popular digital nomad destination, with the latest data from Nomadlist suggesting you can get by there for around $2,000 per month or less.
