Unfortunately for sun-seekers out there, though, just as the temperatures get hot enough for that dream beach holiday, airlines start slapping some truly insane prices on plane tickets, leaving us with the age-old dilemma – is booking a budget-friendly flight during the summer even possible?
As it turns out, the answer is a resounding “YES!”.
According to Skyscanner, this July will see airfare fall to its annual low not just for one but five gorgeous sunny hubs, so if you’re looking to plan the ultimate summer getaway on a budget this year, you’ll want to stick around until the end.
Aruba
Aruba is one of the hottest Caribbean hubs right now, and if you, too, are one of the millions of people planning to fly to the island this summer, you’ll be happy to learn that July will bring some of the lowest airfare prices you’ve ever seen.
Return tickets will start at just $226, and though that’s just the price for the Fort Lauderdale-Oranjestad route, the average range for US flights is still between $400 and $600, which is pretty reasonable considering where you’re going.

Dominica
Not to be confused with the iconic Dominican Republic, Dominica is a jaw-dropping destination in its own right.
And while there’s never really a bad time to visit this criminally underrated island nation, July might just be the best there is.
Not only is the weather to die for, but you can find round-trip tickets priced as low as $539.
Now, this is just a starting point and trips from most places cost something closer to the $700-$800 range, but remember that you’re going to a Caribbean island that’s 2000+ miles away – closing all travel expenses under $1000 is still a win!
Grenada
Last but not least we have Grenada, a once-overlooked destination that’s slowly but surely turning into one of the summer’s trendiest hotspots.
